About Me
My name is Kurt Lampe. I'm a psychotherapist in my eighth (final) year of training. I'm also a university lecturer with expertise in philosophy and mythology.
My psychotherapy training has taken place at the Severnside Institute for Psychotherapy (2017-2019) and the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (2019-2026), where I am completing an MA. As part of this training, I've spent two years at the Harbour (a charity specializing in bereavement counselling) and nearly three years in the NHS (2024-2026). Most recently, I worked long-term with patients in the Complex Psychological Interventions service.
I'm registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy, I'm fully insured, and I receive regular supervision.
I also have an MA and PhD from Berkeley (USA) and a career in teaching and research at the University of Bristol, where I continue to work part-time as a Senior Lecturer. Among my research interests is the history of psychotherapy, with particular attention to psychoanalytic and Jungian therapies. Please note that in order to preserve ethical boundaries, I do not work therapeutically with any students or staff I could also work with at the university.
